Julia and Zach were married on a romantically rainy day at The University Club in St. Paul, MN.  Julia and I go way back to our very first day of college as we were dorm neighbors and share so many fond memories of ICQ chats (does anyone even remember that!?) and late night Easy Mac snacks.  Ahh college…  Anyway, it was such an honor to photograph this beautiful wedding and couple.  Julia and Zach, I am thrilled for the both of you and wish you many, many days as happy as your wedding day!  XOXO.

Kate + Andy were married during a sweet and intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.  Perched on a point overlooking Casco Bay and beneath the shade of gorgeous Maine trees, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love.  Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at Gather in Yarmouth.  A brief rain shower in the midst of outdoor family photos hardly held them up!  And who could forget Donkey!?  Seriously the cutest dog of honor EVER.  Congratulations, you two!  Many you have many, many days as happy as your wedding day!

Look at this adorable family!  There was a lot of sweetness and a little bit of sassy, per the norm in 4 year old life!  Throw in an a beautiful farmhouse and some pretty light and well, that’s a good day.  : )

Meet Brigham, Bethany and Theo.  Quite possibly the most kind, generous, joyful and loving family you’ll ever meet.  Oh and adorable too!  As I was talking to Bethany about what her hopes for their sessions were, she basically recited part of my mission statement which is: To create photographs which communicate the crazy, chaotic and yet beautiful life to parents now and to their grown children later.  These (sometimes really looong) days of Teddy as a toddler will be over in a flash.  I hope these images not only bring back memories, but also feelings of what life at this stage is like.  A visual reminder of his wispy, baby curls, his sweet little giggle and the way he cuddles in.  I hope these images that speak to Teddy as an adult about how much he is loved, because it’s A LOT.  You guys are the real deal and it shows in the way you care for each other.  I’m SO thankful our paths crossed.  XOXOX.

I want to remember…how fun it is to see my parents become grandparents.  I never really thought about the other births that happen when a new baby is born…I became a mom, Justin became a dad, our parents became grandparents, my sister became an aunt, my grandpa became a great grandpa.  New roles for all of us!

Where to begin with these two…  They got married on the most beautiful day in December.  I’m not joking.  It seriously was a 40 degree day filled with bright sunlight, fresh, sparkly snow and Christmas was still lingering in the air.  I could get used to a winter like that!  And they chose the  Rochester Art Center for both their ceremony and reception which is one of my favorites.  Plus, they had so many sweet touches that made their day special and unique.  But that’s not the best part.  The best part is that these two are probably the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.  They are incredibly thoughtful, kind, relaxed and downright happy.  Oh, did I mention in love?  From their families to their friends to the love between the two of them, it was infectious!  My cheeks hurt from smiling so much!  From the bottom of my heart, congratulations on an amazing wedding.  You both were an absolute joy to work with and I hope you have many, many, many days as wonderful as your wedding!

Oh what a sweet family! We did this session last time I was back in Rochester and it was freeeeezing. But these guys were troopers and oh so adorable. And Kristi is the face behind Urban B Photography in Rochester. I think it’s safe to say she is fantastic on both sides of the camera! 🙂

There has been lots of stuff that has been hard about moving to Maine but there has also been lots of good stuff too. High on my list of really good stuff is meeting these guys! Originally from Minnesota, a mutual family member/friend introduced us and they have been our lifesavers since moving here. It’s SO NICE to have someone to ask important questions like where to get your hair cut and where to find the nearest post office. As it turns out, they also had their first baby just a few months before us and also have a sweet springer spaniel that Ike is crazy for. We have appreciated this new friendship so much! Krista, Luke, Kjelten and Moose, thanks for being our main friends here (do Maine jokes get old?) We look forward to many more good times together with babies and dogs!  p.s.  Can a family get any more adorable?  Doubtful.

Mark and Sarah’s wedding was my first wedding in Maine!  And it was a good one.  They started their day out by having their first meeting at the Wire Bridge near New Portland, ME.  This place in itself is incredible, the bridge was built in the 1800s and is believed to be the only surviving bridge of it’s kind in the US.  Then we headed to the ceremony which was in Mark’s parents’ back yard on the beautiful Ira Mountain.  Add in the most perfect fall weather and more importantly, an awesome couple surrounded by their closest family and friends and that equals an incredible day.  Congratulations Mark and Sarah!

I photographed Chad and Carla’s wedding back in 2009 and met up with them again recently as they now have three beautiful babies, two of which are twins! I love photographing people in their homes, in their own element and I think it was especially fitting for them right now because life is busy and messy and beautiful. A perfectly orchestrated family portrait at a park was not going to happen with three little ones on a super cold morning. So they decided to embrace life as it is! An early morning session over a yummy breakfast followed by some shots piled on the bed in pjs. My goal when doing family photography is to create photographs that communicate the crazy, chaotic and yet beautiful life to new parents now and their grown children later. I feel like we accomplished that here.  Your babies will always know how much they are loved and I hope these are a reminder of this incredible (sometimes difficult but always worth it) stage in your lives.  XOXOXO.
