Hello and welcome! I have recently relocated to Portland, Maine from Rochester, Minnesota and serve the wedding and portrait photography needs of Maine, Minnesota and beyond. This is the place to check out my most recent work and to get a glimpse into my life. Feel free to take a look around, I'd love to connect with you!

Kai, you are one year old. How did that happen? Your birth day seems like last month and look at you now. Walking running everywhere, blowing kisses, saying da dad ad, flirting with the ladies…you certainly have developed your own personality and watching you grow this past year has been so much fun. Happy First Birthday, Kai!

I know it’s lame to talk about complain about this weather. So maybe we should just all crawl under the covers until the sun comes out again. Anyone?

Elizabeth and her mom and dad live in Duluth but came to Rochester to visit family and we squeezed a photo session in too! I have photographed Elizabeth’s cousins before and they warned me about how cute she was. Yup, she’s adorable.

So. We walked into the studio Saturday morning and saw water dripping from the ceiling. I said words I don’t say. We had one hour before we needed to leave for our wedding. Hurry up and panic. Leave four hundred four frantic messages for our landlord. I never said I was a drama queen. But then again, I never said I wasn’t. Panic some more and then calm down. It’s not THAT bad. It didn’t touch the computers. It didn’t touch the hard drives. Even if it did, everything was backed up. It’s slightly inconvenient but at least: 1. We weren’t entirely moved in. 2. We actually stopped, it would have been a lot worse otherwise. 3. There’s no damage other than the ceiling.
So we set up shop here for now. I’m wearing sweats. And getting snacks on the hour. And perhaps we’ll be eating Macs for dinner. I guess it’s not all that bad. Happy Monday! 🙂

I know what you are thinking, but I swear I did not hire J.Crew models for this shoot. They are just that cute. Bobby and Ellen chose to do their engagement session at Bobby’s family’s cabin near Chatfield, MN. I love it when couples choose locations that are meaningful to them and it didn’t hurt that it was absolutely gorgeous there. Congratulations on your engagement, Bobby and Ellen and happy wedding planning!

It seems like we were just moving into our new space. Well, that new space just became the old space.
WE’RE MOVING!
Yup, we’re moving a whole block away! In fact, today is moving day and leave it to me to move on a wet, rainy day. And oh yeah, in the middle of wedding season! And leave it to me to feel super nostalgic and yes, a little sad on a happy and exciting day. Don’t get me wrong, I am SO EXCITED to move into our beautiful new space. It’s on the street level of Broadway with great natural light, hardwood floors and exposed brick. It is beautiful and so is the potential that comes along with it. But I don’t like goodbyes. So I’m certain there will be a tear as we close the door to the old office. Lots of good things happened there.
We’ll be having another open house at the new studio on August 4 but if you’re in the area before then, stop by and say hi! Here’s a little preview of the new digs. Until we get settled, I’ll be working from here. Or at least trying to…

It was pouring while we were on our way to Krista and Cole’s wedding. Like POURING. And rain, wedding dresses, and outdoor photos don’t play well together. But then, the sun came out. And it stayed out for the rest of the day! It ended up being a gorgeous day, not only weather wise but love wise too. Krista and Cole had a beautiful ceremony and were married with lots and lots of family and friends surrounding them. Congratulations!!! I hope you have many more days as a married couple as beautiful as your wedding day!
p.s. Krista, you’re stunning.

Being a photographer allows me to help people remember important times in their lives. The happy days, the sad days, the days with big events, and the days in between everything else. I have seen the happiest of happy and the saddest of sad.
Tonight, WCCO recapped one of the saddest days I have photographed. Though grief and tears filled the room that night, love overpowered it. And I hope that is what continues to shine through in the photos of Sophia and her family.

Ahh! It is so so so nice to be outside shooting again and I love how long the days are now. Is it just me or does it seem like everything bloomed and turned green almost overnight? I am loving the green fields lately so that’s where we ended up for Sadie’s 9 month pictures…can’t believe she is 9 months old already! She is adorable but clearly, you can see that! I love her big blue eyes and I think her parents are pretty smitten over her too! 🙂 Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!
