Hello and welcome! I have recently relocated to Portland, Maine from Rochester, Minnesota and serve the wedding and portrait photography needs of Maine, Minnesota and beyond. This is the place to check out my most recent work and to get a glimpse into my life. Feel free to take a look around, I'd love to connect with you!

Help Portrait. This Saturday. Spread the Word.

The Help Portrait movement had its official beginning on December 12, 2009 when more than 3,400 photographers in 543 locations across 42 countries gave over 42,000 beautiful portraits to beautiful people.

And we’re a part of it here in Rochester, MN.

This Saturday, December 10 from 10-2pm at the Boys & Girls Club we will be making portraits for anyone who may not typically be able to have their portrait taken.  And to remind them that they are beautiful.

Click here to find out more.  Know someone who could benefit from this?  Help spread the word!  Want to help?  Contact Shawn!

Mara at 6 months

Mara is 6 months old!  Well, she’s a little older now since some*cough*one is a little behind on blogging…
Nonetheless, isn’t she cute?

Thankful.

Among all the things I am thankful for (and there’s a lot), dog noses are high on the list.  Happy Thanksgiving all!

Harper

I  always said my favorite things to photograph were people.  But over the past couple years, I have come to realize that while I do love photographing people, ultimately, I love photographing RELATIONSHIPS between people.  I love being able to catch something for people to see that normally they can only feel.  Aaaand this also applies to people and their pets.  I am a dog lover.  You all know that.  So when Jessica and Justin contacted me to do photos of them with their dog Harper, I had a huge smile on my face.  Then when they told me he had cancer and potentially only a short time left, the tears rolled.  Jessica and Justin: thank you for trusting me to photograph your family and your Harper during this special and very difficult time in your lives.  I hope these photos help you see the love you feel for Harper and the love he feels for you.  To view their slideshow, please click here.

The Jones Family

Here’s the Jones family waaaaay back at the end of summer/early fall.  Seems like so long ago after bundling up this morning.  Stay warm and let the countdown to summer begin again!  🙂

Jim, Cathy, Amy, CC + Ginger

For the past couple of years, I have photographed this family and it has been so fun to see Amy grow each year and CC too!  Ginger is the newest addition to this family and isn’t she a sweetie?  Rest assured, there was NO squealing or high pitched doggie talk happening at all during this session.  Nope.  Not one bit.  🙂
