Julia and Zach were married on a romantically rainy day at The University Club in St. Paul, MN.  Julia and I go way back to our very first day of college as we were dorm neighbors and share so many fond memories of ICQ chats (does anyone even remember that!?) and late night Easy Mac snacks.  Ahh college…  Anyway, it was such an honor to photograph this beautiful wedding and couple.  Julia and Zach, I am thrilled for the both of you and wish you many, many days as happy as your wedding day!  XOXO.

Kate + Andy were married during a sweet and intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.  Perched on a point overlooking Casco Bay and beneath the shade of gorgeous Maine trees, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love.  Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at Gather in Yarmouth.  A brief rain shower in the midst of outdoor family photos hardly held them up!  And who could forget Donkey!?  Seriously the cutest dog of honor EVER.  Congratulations, you two!  Many you have many, many days as happy as your wedding day!

Remember this sweet family?!  Not only has Theo grown since our last photo session, he is also about to become a big brother!  I’ve decided the only thing better than three McNaughtons is FOUR McNaughtons!  Thank you for sharing a beautiful summer evening and your amazing family with me.  I cannot wait to meet the littlest love!  XOXOX.

Julia and I go waaaay back to our days as newly minted freshman on Hoyum Hall at Concordia College.  We bonded over instant messenger chats and late night ramen snacks and I’m thankful our friendship has remained even though MSN and ramen are out, ha!  I know I’ve said it before but I think perhaps the only thing greater than being happy yourself, is seeing those you love happy.  I was so happy to finally meet you, Zach and see you so happy, Julia!  Congratulations to you both on your engagement!  I am so happy for you, I love you and I am so excited to celebrate with you at your wedding next fall!

My baby sister is getting married and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her and my soon to be brother-in-law, Danny!  I’m not sure how it’s possible that the little kid I remember convincing to stand in only her underwear on a snowbank in the dead of winter for a measly $1 (true story) is now old enough to be married but I’m so excited about it!  I am beyond thankful that Clara knows her Auntie Erica so well and has taken a fond liking to Danny too! Pretty much the only thing I don’t like about living in Maine is being so far from family but even over the distance, we are still super close and involved in each others’ lives.  We have learned to cherish the time together even more and always make wonderful memories (thankfully none involving underwear and snowbanks anymore though..).  Erica came to Maine in August for her 9th trip and brought Danny for his 1st!  Of course we had to give him the full tour of Portland and we even made a trip up to Acadia National Park (a must do if you ever visit Maine!).  We did some engagement photos both during their visit to Maine as well as when I was back in South Dakota which is fitting since both are incredibly special places!  To Erica and Danny, we are thrilled for you and love you and can’t wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day and beyond!  XOXOXOX!  p.s. You guys are cute!        

The northernmost woods of Minnesota are a magical place and an amazing location for a wedding, made extra special for these two as Peter grew up spending his weekends there on Burntside Lake, just steps away from the Boundary Waters.  He + Whitney were married there on a quintessential MN summer day and surrounded by their family and friends, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love!  What a joy it was to be a part of the beginning of your marriage!  Congratulations and may you have many, many days as happy as your wedding day!

I wasn’t sure much could top Johann and Yasmin’s incredible wedding (you can check it out here: Part I, Part II and Part III) but it happened.  Their sweet Pemma was born barely 2 weeks ago and it’s easy to see why they are so smitten. Yet again, I feel so fortunate that my camera allows me a pass during some of life’s most exciting and precious times.  Congratulations!  I loved spending time with your beautiful, growing family…Fozzie the 4 legged big brother included!

Way back in 2010, I took this photo and it is still one of my favorites!  Recently, I was on the same Florida beach with the same people so we did our best to recreate the photo despite the youngest subject being about 40lbs heavier…go strong mom!
